About the Team:

You will work closely with several managers – Operations, HR and other support functions – to ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety requirements and ensure a safety culture is maintained throughout CDS. You'll enjoy the fast pace of work at CDS along with an overall sense of teamwork and fun!

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible to ensure all safety standards are met in a multi-site environment.
  • Plan, develop, implement, schedule, track and evaluate all required training for occupational health & safety.
  • Liaise and respond to questions from internal / external parties regarding provincial specific safety regulations, compliance, and certifications.
  • Develop and implement occupational health & safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Primary point-of-contact for the overall external audit process – WorkSafe BC.
  • Collects and maintains occupational health & safety records for audits and certifications.
  • Potential to grow in the role and oversee health & safety for other provinces and divisions of CDS.

Who You Are:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain safety programs and strategies.
  • Keep detailed, auditable records of safety activities and performance for process improvement, risk management and other reporting requirements.
  • Post-secondary education preferred, with an emphasis on Supply Chain, Occupational Health& Safety, or related field.
  • In-depth understanding of safety as it relates to the warehousing and distribution industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, showing high level of professionalism in written and verbal communications.
  • Confident expressing your point of view and holding stakeholders accountable at all levels.
  • Must be awell-organized, detail oriented, self-starter, ability to prioritize under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Able to pass criminal background check.
